Authorities in Los Angeles County recently carried out an inspection at Blair’s Acton, California, property as part of an investigation into reports that a large-scale kennel operation was being run there.
According to PEOPLE, the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) and the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning served an inspection warrant at the property during a joint operation. Officials said they were responding to reports that more than 100 dogs could be housed at the location.
“The goal is to inspect this property for buildings and structures associated with a kennel operation reported to have more than 100 dogs,” the DACC said in a statement.
County officials said Blair’s kennel permits expired in 2023. They also alleged that multiple attempts to contact the property’s owner went unanswered, prompting officials to seek a court-approved inspection warrant.
The departments stressed that the warrant was obtained so investigators could legally enter the property and determine whether it complies with county regulations.
“Our priority is the safety and well-being of both the animals on the property and the people who may be working or residing here,” the DACC said. Officials added that the inspection would help determine whether the property’s conditions meet required health and safety standards.
As of now, county officials have not announced whether any violations were found or whether any animals were removed from the property. The inspection remains part of an ongoing investigation.
Blair also addressed the situation herself by posting a video on Instagram after news of the investigation became public. The actress responded directly to the reports, although officials have not released additional details about the inspection or its findings.

The investigation has surprised many fans because Blair has spent decades building a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most dedicated animal welfare advocates.
