After the latest, very widespread ground beef recall, we’d love to tell you that tainted food is the thing of the past but, unfortunately, we have yet another food recall to report on today. This time it’s eggs, and, according to an announcement released by the FDA, the contaminated product has sickened at least 38 people across 7 states.

The eggs, which originated from Gravel Ridge Farms in Cullman, Alabama, have been found to contain Salmonella, a bacteria which can cause diarrhea, fever, nausea, abdominal pain, and, in the worst cases, chronic issues such as arthritis and arterial infections. The risk of becoming sickened by Salmonella increases in the very young, old, and in those that have compromised immune systems.

The specific product that has been affected contains the following information on the packaging:

Although this recall affects 7 states–Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio, Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, and Montana–the FDA has published a list of specific stores in Atlanta and Birmingham that should be included, too. They are as follows:

Atlanta

Birmingham

If you have, in fact, purchased these eggs, you can return them to the point of purchase or call the recall contact, Daniel Wright at (252) 962-9124. Those who believe that they have been sickened by them should follow these special CDC procedures.

Stay safe and stay tuned. We’ll be sure to supply you with more updates as they come available to us!
