This Dreamy Bowling Alley Has You Sharing Lanes with Sharks and Stingrays

Looking to switch up your Saturday routine? Want something to do with the family while on vacation? Then you’ll probably want to check out Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl & Grill.

It is part restaurant, part entertainment attraction that features an underwater-like bowling experience. The themed bowling alley is designed to look like an ocean world, complete with octopuses, sea turtles, and mermaids. As soon as you walk in, your eyes will be drawn to the ceiling which will make you feel like you are swimming among sea creatures.

Look above at the fish, stingrays, and other members of the marine family – real or mythological – and it may be hard to concentrate on your game. Did we mention it’s a 12-lane bowling alley?

The walls are hand painted and the ball return hoods are shaped like creatures of the water. Sharks, gators, and squid spit the balls out into the hands of each player. And the balls themselves are custom designed to fit in with the scenery. Some have images of mermaids, sharks, and other underwater friends painted on them.

Uncle Buck’s has 12 locations throughout North America, including two in Tennessee, one in Vancouver, one in vacation hot spot Destin, Florida, and a go-to for New Yorkers and Connecticut residents in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They even have real saltwater aquariums!

We know you want to know how much this experience costs, so let’s get to it. The hourly rate for one lane ranges from $27 to $32 on weekdays and $32 to $37 on the weekends. Half hour rates are also available, but Uncle Buck’s notes on its website that weekends are particularly busy with wait times up to 4 hours. Depending on where you are, it could be longer.

With that being the case, it’s a good thing there is a restaurant/bar on site. Standard American fare like pizza, sandwiches, and burgers sit among other menu items like fish, shrimp, and local favorites. Wines, beers, and cocktails are also available for those who wish to imbibe.

If you choose to skip the food and drink or prefer something other than bowling, hop over to the billiards section. The whole family can get their game time in during a visit.

Parents and kids love to hang out in the cool bowling alley for some quality fun time, but of course, Uncle Buck’s also has party packages. Why not book one?

If you are wondering who came up with this idea, Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl & Grill is owned by Bass Pro Shops and is part of the Uncle Buck’s brand. Other ventures include Uncle Buck’s Brewery & Steakhouse and Uncle Buck’s Restaurant.

Check out this short clip to see how the bowling experience is with the lights turned down low. The underwater effects are pretty cool and you’ll want to stare into the shark’s eyes when you grab the ball!

Have you visited one of these locations with your family? Would you like to plan a trip to one of these Uncle Buck’s attractions? Do you have a thing for unique bowling alleys?
