We grew up knowing Bob Saget as the dad on “Full House” and later reprising the role of Danny Tanner on “Fuller House.” He was also a successful stand up comic, and he had recently launched a stand up comedy tour.

After performing on tour in Jacksonville, Florida, Saget tweeted about the night. He looked happy. He seemed optimistic and excited about the future. He had no idea his life was about to end.

According to his wife, Kelly Rizzo, he sent her a text that night saying he’d see her tomorrow. The plan was for him to fly back to Los Angeles the following day, but first, he spent the night at a hotel in Orlando.

Saget never woke up the next day. His family tried and failed to contact him, so they had hotel security enter the room. That’s when Saget was found unconscious.

The authorities quickly ruled out foul play, but the cause of death had yet to be determined. As fans of “Full House,” we were curious to know more about why he died so suddenly and unexpectedly. We can only imagine how much more his family and friends anxiously waited for the news of why Saget never woke up.

One month after Saget’s death, his family released a statement thanking fans for their support and revealing what they have learned about his death. The statement reads, “In the weeks since Bob’s passing, we have been overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans, which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful. Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us.”

The statement went on to explain the cause of death and what Saget’s family hopes we learn from his life. Watch the video below to find out what we now know about Saget’s cause of death and to hear from two of his TV daughters, Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin, about how his life and his death have impacted their lives.
