The holiday season is always a festive, busy time, and there are many fun activities for the whole family, like decorating the Christmas tree, playing in the snow (if you live somewhere where it snows) and attending Christmas services.

While the days leading up to Christmas can be a lot of fun, they can also be a little stressful. There are so many presents to buy and parties to attend, plus it can be hard not to gain weight with all the scrumptious cookie exchanges and other holiday treats.

We have many favorite stress-relief techniques, but sometimes what you really need is a way to relax and take a moment for yourself. Finally, there’s a way to portion-control your stress relief in the form of wine.

We’re talking about the All-New Wine Lovers’ Advent Calendar. If you love wine as much as we do, you’re already salivating.

Parents, don’t buy this advent calendar for your kids. This one is just for adults. The kiddos can have a traditional one with candy or toys.

Like all other advent calendars, this wine advent calendar has 24 numbered doors, one for each day in December leading up to Christmas, but unlike any other advent calendar, behind each door is a quarter-size bottle (187ml) of premium wine. That’s enough for one generous-size glass of wine every day.

I think I hear angels singing!

The wine advent calendar comes in a festive box that makes a great early Christmas present, but it’s not cheap, at least at first glance. It’s $130 at Macys Wine Cellar and WSJwine.com. Shipping is free, and when you break down how much wine you get, it’s actually a really good deal. You get 24 quarter-size bottles, which equals 6 full-size bottles, making it less than $22 per bottle if they were full size bottles, or about $5.42 per quarter-size bottle.

We think that’s pretty good for premium wine like double-gold Champagne, fine Bordeaux and a 5-star estate Rioja, all of which are included in this adults-only advent calendar (according to the description).

So, while the kiddos write their lists to Santa, and you struggle to find the perfect recipe for the cookie exchange (we can help with that, by the way), open your advent calendar and enjoy a glass of wine.

If you want to make sure you have your advent calendar by December 1st, don’t wait too long to order. According to the description, orders have to be placed by November 19th for guaranteed delivery by December 1st.

Excuse me while I go place my order.

What’s your favorite type of wine? Will you be ordering this wine advent calendar?
