A Field in Seattle Will Transform Into an 8,500-Square-Foot Ice Skating Trail This Christmas Season

Seattle’s Safeco Field, the ballpark where the Mariners play, is getting a glamorous makeover for the holiday season. Starting Thanksgiving Day, the public will be able to enjoy the park’s activities, and it has nothing to do with baseball.

Enchant Christmas will be turning the grassy field into an indoor wintry wonderland, featuring a Christmas market, ice skating rink, and light sculptures. Already a hit in Vancouver and Arlington, Texas, this will be the first year Seattle gets a taste of the Christmas magic.

Visitors won’t be disappointed when they make their way through the dazzling lights of the huge maze to find Santa’s reindeer or to reach the skating rink. It won’t look anything like an outfield anymore! The ice skating trail is located on the infield and is described as an 8,500 square-foot river style loop that is accented with beautiful light sculptures.

A press release from Enchant Christmas says the theme of the Seattle event tells a story:

“The Enchant Christmas experience coming to Seattle is based on an original story, ‘The Great Search,’ that tells a tale of Santa’s missing reindeer and a mission to save Christmas.”

Guests can also take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and shop with local vendors in the marketplace. Food, drinks, and nightly shows await kids and adults. The event at Safeco Field runs from November 23 to December 30.

Children 3 and under can visit for free, and single and group ticket sales are also available. If you’re interested in winding through thousands of feet of pure Christmas fun, visit Enchant Christmas for more information!
