11-Year-Old Makes History As First America’s Got Talent Contestant to Receive the Golden Buzzer Twice

When 10-year-old singing phenomenon, Angelica Hale, first made her debut on America’s Got Talent back in 2017, the whole world knew that they had been introduced to a very special young girl. The pint-sized performer quickly went ‘viral’, capturing the attention of even those who weren’t viewers of the reality TV talent competition. Amazingly, she placed second overall. At that time, we jumped on the Anjelica Hale bandwagon, too–though, admittedly, we were just a TAD more taken with grade school puppeteer, Darci Lynne.

Now, Hale is at the ripe old age of 11-years-old and, believe it or not, she’s back on the America’s Got Talent stage, competing on AGT: The Champions. The successful spin-off just premiered, but it has already garnered heaps of attention, mainly because the showstopping Susan Boyle is participating in the show.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Boyle received the coveted “Golden Buzzer” (a reward that saves the best acts from elimination), during her audition. But, what happened in the next episode shocked everyone. Little Angelica Hale took to the stage to sing a cover of “Fight Song.” Suffice it to say, her rendition blew everyone away, so much so that she earned a Golden Buzzer from judge, Howie Mandel.

Upon receiving the honor, Hale burst into tears. She said, “I can’t believe this is actually happening to me. I never expected this to happen. I wanted to thank you so much. This is a dream come true.”

This is so notable because it means that Hale is the only contestant in the history of the show who has earned the Golden Buzzer TWICE, once during her original audition, and once again for the spinoff series. We all knew this girl was talented, but we have a feeling that this is the season for her. We are predicting it now: Angelica Hale will win AGT: The Champions!
