With Spring Break behind us, we’re looking ahead to summer and thinking about a summer vacation. Especially with kids, we’re always looking for something family friendly and budget friendly.
While we often choose Airbnb for a home away from home (we love a full kitchen and washer and dryer when traveling with kids), it can be hard to find equivalent deals on fun activities to do with kids.
Really, we want a vacation that the whole family can enjoy, not just the kids, and often a theme park fits the bill. Sure, Orlando is packed with theme parks, but if you hop over to the other coast, there are quite a few in southern California too, and while you’re there, you can see where some of your favorite movies and TV shows are made.
If you like theme park rides that come with a real movie studio backlot tour, and if you have Harry Potter fans in your house (maybe that’s you), you’re going to love Universal Studios Hollywood.
A one-day ticket to Universal Studios Hollywood usually costs $109 at the gate. Multiply that by everyone in the family, and it adds up fast. Then think about how stressful it might be to try to pack in every fun and thrilling activity the park has to offer in just one day, and it can sound more overwhelming than fun.
Costco has the solution. They are offering a 3-day ticket to Universal Studios Hollywood for just $30 more than the one-day ticket price! That’s just $139 for a 3-day visit! That’s a much better value, and we can take our time and enjoy everything without racing between rides and attractions.
It gets even better. You don’t have to use the ticket 3 days in a row. In fact, you have an entire year to use the three days. So, you could go this summer and again later on in the year.
There are a few blackout dates (December 26-31st), but otherwise, you’re good to go. All you have to do is activate the e-ticket online and choose which day you plan to visit the park for your first visit.
Warning: you actually have to visit the park on the day you choose. Even if you don’t visit on that day it will count as your first visit, so make sure you plan when you’re going to go before choosing a visit date.
Alright, who’s joining us at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter? We’ll meet you in front of Hogwarts Castle.
