So far, the first video on the The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge YouTube channel has over 1 million views and over 280,000 subscribers. That’s saying something considering the video was just released yesterday.
Even though the channel just launched yesterday, there are multiple videos and playlists uploaded to the royal couple’s channel. For example, there are 15 videos listed under the “Engagements” playlist. This playlist is a place to learn about “the Duke and Duchess’ engagements and visits.”
There are another 12 videos listed under “The Early Years.” This playlist is described as a place to “Discover The Duchess’ work on early childhood, addressing social challenges such as addiction, family breakdown, poor mental health, suicide and homelessness.”
So far the reaction to the new YouTube channel seems pretty positive. The comments on the intro video applaud the couple for allowing comments and not hiding likes and dislikes. One comment reads, “I have so much respect for them not using tools of online censorship like hiding like/dislike counts and keeping comments turned off. Seems like a nice genuine channel.”
Another viewer commented, “Whoever came up with the idea 💡 should get a raise.”
