We can all agree these are currently some strange, strange times. As the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread across the globe, many of us are finding ourselves stuck at home with more free time than ever. And we know just how you can spend that time: Baking!

Lots of people have turned to the kitchen in light of all the spare time. Whether it’s 3-ingredient  banana bread or a more intense pineapple upside-down Bundt cake, we’ve got you covered.

Lately, we’ve been obsessing over simplicity—and nothing says simple like a classic chocolate cake, right?

If you agree, then you’re going to want to bookmark this recipe by British chef Jamie Oliver. Using just six simple ingredients, this chocolate cake comes together in no time flat.

What’s more, there are no eggs in it, so if you’re vegan, this is a great option for you (just make sure to replace the butter with a vegan type).

Okay, let’s get started! Like we said, six ingredients: Butter, chocolate, nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, whatever you like), flour, milk and sugar.

Remember how we said it comes together in a cinch? We’re not kidding. The directions are incredibly simple. Ready? You may need to jot this down.

Start off by pulsing the nuts in a food processor. Got that? Good.

Then break in your pieces of chocolate to the whizzing food processor.

Then you add your butter. Let it keep on whizzing.

Then the flour. Don’t forget a quick pinch of salt, too. Jamie says this is “important” and we’re not sure if he’s joking.

Then, add your milk. And then, add your sugar.

That’s right, you’ve used all your ingredients and only one piece of equipment. And that’s all you’re going to use!

Let the mixture swirl around until it’s a fluffy texture. Then, grease or put some parchment paper in a cake pan and add your mixture to it, making sure to spread it around evenly.

Into the oven it goes. In precisely 18 minutes, the cake will be ready, oozing with chocolatey goodness.

Jamie says the cake is super versatile, encouraging you to add any type of toppings you’d like—dried fruit, flakes of nuts, etc. His topping of choice? Chocolate flakes and a spoonful of creamy yogurt.

Watch in the video below as he takes you through this incredibly simple, yet decadent recipe. You’ll definitely want to make a few of these after this!
