The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, together have three children, all of who have their own talents. And Kate recently talked about their middle child, Princess Charlotte’s, new very cool hobby—one that involves a lot of agility and core strength.
“Charlotte is really into gymnastics, she’s doing cartwheels, handstands, everything,” the Duchess told Entertainment Daily. She added a word about all the benefits the new hobby provides: “It’s so good for their basic skills of balance and coordination.”
“And their flexibility, it’s really good for their long-term health, isn’t it? We went to watch the Cirque du Soleil recently, it was amazing,” Prince William added.
The family recently went on a three-day tour of Ireland, where Charlotte seemingly picked up the skill, or at least, enhanced it.
It doesn’t surprise us that Charlotte is so talented at a young age. Let’s not forget that at just 2 ½ years old, Charlotte was already bilingual. That’s right, at barely three years old, the princess was fluent in Spanish. Impressive much?
Their other kiddos are just as talented, too. Prince William shared that their 8-year-son George has started to learn how to play the guitar. And on top of gymnastics, Charlotte is already very musically talented and loves to feel the beat by tearing up the dance floor with her dancing skills.
In fact, the family uses these hobbies to their interests and participates in a fun routine together before they all go to school in the AM—even if it technically beings with a “fight” (except not really).
“Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played in the morning… And I have to, now, basically prioritize that one day someone does this one, and another day it’s someone else’s turn,” Prince William had explained. “So George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the clamor for the music.”
Charlotte and George have both taken ballet lessons as well, so they’re well versed in many kinds of dance.
“Charlotte, particularly, is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet stuff and everything,” William said, adding a note about his youngest, Louis, at 4 years old: “She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing.”
What a fun, talented family! We wish we were as talented as them! What kinds of hobbies did you have at such a young age?
