Some people have musical talent, and some people just, well, don’t. We’re sure everyone has something they’re good at, but for many people music is not it. That’s what makes the first few episodes of shows like American Idol so entertaining.

Admit it. There’s something fun about watching people who think they can sing belt out a song off tune. It’s like a train wreck and you can’t look away. Just us. Oops.

Of course, there’s always those special singers who you think won’t be able to carry a tune. They even admit that they’ve never had singing lessons, but then they open their mouth and the judges are blown away by their incredible talent.

Like we said, some people just have natural musical talent. They don’t need lessons. It’s just part of who they are. Colby Swift is one of those people.

At 19-years-old, Colby Swift auditioned for American Idol. He has never had music lessons, but his voice is that perfect deep, rich, country twang. He has country superstar written all over him.

In Hollywood, Swift once again went before the judges to see if he would make it to the next round. This was his first time ever leaving his home state of Texas. He had his guitar with him, and he said he was going to sing the song “Teardrop Falls” by Freddy Fender because his sister likes that song.

His voice once again impressed the judges and everyone in the audience. He even got a standing ovation. He was certainly not expecting such an overwhelmingly positive reaction.

Afterwards, when the judges were choosing who would go on to the next round, Luke Bryan had an usual request for Swift. He asked Swift to show the camera the bottoms of his boots. Bryan had noticed that Swift’s boots were so worn out that there were huge holes in the bottoms of them.

Being the great guy that he is, Bryan didn’t hesitate to do something completely unexpected. He took the boots off of his own feet and handed them to Colby. Overwhelmed by the kind gesture, Colby put on his new boots which seemed to be a perfect fit.
