Kim Kardashian rose to fame with her hit reality show on E!, Keeping Up With The Kardashians—and sure, the show is entertaining. But she was also born into a rich family. Would she be as successful as she was if that weren’t the case? No one really knows, but we can tell you one thing: No one appreciates someone like that telling them to work hard.
In a recent interview with Variety, Kim gave some choice words for advice: “I have the best advice for women in business: Get your [effing] ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”
As you can imagine, absolutely no one took this well. In fact, people thought the comment was quite condescending, contradictory, and even a little (a lot) rude. Naturally, she was trending on Twitter after the statement was made—but not in the best way. People were outraged.
We’ve collected some of the top Twitter reactions to this patronizing statement. Check them out below!

A New Reality Show Idea
They need to do a real reality show where she is dropped off in a small town with a studio apartment, no vehicle, no connections and no bank account. Let her take a bus to a minimum wage job then see if she can work hard enough to make it.

Careful Who You Speak To
I’ll make sure to let my mom, who worked 2-3 minimum wage jobs at a time and had me sleeping in a gas station so I wouldn’t be alone, that she just should’ve worked harder. Oh wait. She had a heart attack at 57 because she could never afford doctor visits and medication.

Not Quite a Comparable Salary
Yes Kim, people are tired of working 30+ hours a week to earn 1/920 of what you get by doing literally nothing and signing your name to a product someone else developed

Interns Know Nothing About This

Probably Not the Best Person to Give Advice on This
I love when people who were born to obscenely rich, highly networked and well connected parents pontificate about importance of work.
