Don’t you love it when people from privileged upbringings (we’re talking born to rich and famous parents) give advice to the common person as if they can relate? Yeah, nobody does.
Variety interviewed Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and their mother, Kris Jenner, about their new show on Hulu. During the interview, the sisters also spoke about being women in business.
Khloe was the first sister to answer a question about what advice she has for women in business. She said, “My advice for women in business is that you have to do something that you’re actually passionate about because if you don’t have passion in it it’s not easy regardless of how it looks. And I think people see things with instant gratification because of social media that they think it just comes easy to people. It doesn’t especially if you want something long term.”
Then Kim jumped in to offer her advice which she called “the best advice.” Kim said, “I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f***ing ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”
Kourtney then affirmed her sister’s statement saying, “That’s so true.”
Kim added, “You have to surround yourself with people that want to work. Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do because you have one life. No toxic work environments, and show up and do the work.”
Kim probably thought she was being quite inspirational in her comments, but many people on social media took it as an example of just how out of touch she and the rest of her family are. After all, we’re just coming out of a pandemic which caused many people to lose their jobs and many parents (especially women) to figure out how to provide for their families while also being the sole source of child care for their children when schools abruptly shut down. That doesn’t really give many people the time or energy to figure out what they’re passionate about and make sure they’re surrounded by other passionate people to get the job done.

When Variety shared a clip of the video above on Instagram, there were more negative comments than likes.
Did she put in the work by going to school, earning a degree, starting from the bottom and putting in the work to become a successful business woman?Or was she born with a golden spoon in her mouth and used her family name and TV show to become successful?

Dear @KimKardashian,Many women don’t “hustle” because of current money needs, no help with childcare and lacking capital. Why not talk to https://t.co/vcPH0XQqoWAnd fund a documentary/trial project where you offer UBI, Free childcare and modest capital to 10 low income WOC?

And you start out having a wealthy, brilliant lawyer father with thousands of contacts in one of the richest areas of the whole US.

This ! 😂The audacity of some , who have used the money and celebrity of daddy and mommy to create a buisness. And then dare to juge people who have worked ten times stronger than she ever did for ten times less.

Especially when they’ve spent more on each of many unnecessary individual cosmetic surgeries than most educated people earn in annual salaries.
