For many, the game show “Jeopardy!” is a fun way to escape from the news, including anything related to politics. It’s a show hardcore fans watch every night. They watched for years when Alex Trebek hosted the show, but now the show needs a new host.
“Jeopardy!” is auditioning a series of familiar faces for the open hosting job. The first guest host was former contestant Ken Jennings. The audience reaction was mixed about whether or not he should be Trebek’s official replacement. Next up was the show’s executive producer, Mike Richards, who filled in at the last minute and says that he has not considered becoming the show’s official host. Yet, fans loved him!
Now, it’s time for a new guest host. For the first time ever, “Jeopardy” will have a female host, which sounds like great news. Yet, many long time fans of “Jeopardy!” will be boycotting the show while this female host takes the stage.

Katie Couric has the honor of being the first female host of “Jeopardy.” Unfortunately, she is not nearly as well liked by “Jeopardy!” fans as Trebek was, and part of it is due to what she said on an episode of Bill Maher’s show.
Many “Jeopardy!” fans tend to be conservative politically; however, Couric leans liberal. That’s fine. That’s not enough of a reason for conservative fans to boycott her stint as host on “Jeopardy!” Unfortunately, she made a comment about conservatives that didn’t sit well.
When Couric went on Bill Maher’s show shortly after the riots at the Capitol Building, she said, “And the question is how are we going to really almost deprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump.”
Conservatives and Trump supporters definitely don’t like being told they need to be deprogrammed. Now, many conservative “Jeopardy!” fans can’t imagine enjoying the show while Couric is hosting. The show is usually not at all political, but conservatives would have a hard time watching Couric as host and not thinking about politics.
On Twitter, conservative fans are calling for a boycott of “Jeopardy!” during the two weeks Couric is hosting the show.

Even fans who have been watching the show every single day for decades are planning to boycott “Jeopardy!”
It is. I wouldn’t watch or support anything she does. I’ve been a jeopardy fan and haven’t missed an episode since 1990. I will during her week
