Holiday decor can be a exactly what your house needs to go from just “your home” to “your home during the holidays.” There is a definite difference between the two! Home during the holidays should feel cozy and warm — they don’t call it decking the halls for nothing, you know.
But holiday decor should also reflect who you are as a person. If you’re not the type of person who likes really traditional decor, but you still want to dress up your home for the festive season, you need some decor with a little pizzazz!
If that’s you to a t, do we have the perfect piece of jazzy Christmas decor for you.
Through our friends at Rumble, PSYmedia has created an uber-glamorous holiday decoration that you can make right at home! That’s right, it’ll look like it’s straight from Pier 1, but no one needs to know you made it yourself just before your Christmas bash.
Here’s what you’ll need to get start on this fantastic project:
- Glitter strips
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks

When you’re gathering your supplies, keep in mind that to make this star to its fullest effect, you’ll have to double the amount of materials you use. Two separate stars are made in this project and then hot glued together, to give the final piece a more three-dimensional look.
One thing we’re curious about is where to find glitter strips that make this star. While strips of glitter paper themselves don’t really seem to sell, there are craft stores that sell glitter stock paper. We would highly suggest purchasing this paper in whatever color your fancy and cutting the strips yourselves.
Create these glamorous stars for any holiday you celebrate, or just general colors for winter! All it takes is a little folding and a little hot glue to make these beautiful pieces of decor, and they’ll look store-bought by the time you’re done.
