Gabby Petito and her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, left Florida for a cross-country road trip. From their postcards, pictures and texts they sent to friends and family, it looked like they were having a great time. Unfortunately, it ended in tragedy.

Suddenly, the photos and postcards stopped. There weren’t any more texts from Petito. Laundrie drove home in Petito’s van, but Petito wasn’t with him. Where was she?

Petito’s parents reported her missing on September 11. At that time, it had been about 2 weeks since they had spoken to her.

Laundrie has refused to talk to the police, and now, his parents report that he has been missing since this past Friday. He is considered a “person of interest” by the police.

Now, there is an update in the case of Petito, the missing 22-year-old woman. A body has been found in Wyoming that matches her description. Watch the video below for more details about the search for Petito and the search for Laundrie.

Charles Jones is the FBI’s supervisory senior resident agent. He urges anyone who may have seen Petito, Laundrie or their vehicle to contact the FBI so they can try to find out what happened to Petito. Jones said, “We continue to seek information from anyone who utilized the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area between the dates of August 27 and August 30. Anyone that may have had contact with Gabby, or her boyfriend or who may have seen their vehicle in that area, please share any new information with the FBI.”

Although Petito’s family is grieving, they are grateful that she has been found. In a statement, the family requested privacy while they grieve. They also thanked the FBI and their partners who searched for Petito. The statement explains, “Your tireless work and determination helped bring Gabby home to her parents. The family and I will be forever grateful.”

Meanwhile, Laundrie’s family issued a statement about Petito via their attorney. The statement says, “The news about Gabby Petito is heartbreaking. The Laundrie family prays for Gabby and her family.”
