Walt Disney World considers itself to be the happiest place on earth, but if you’ve been there with kids, you know that while magical, it can also be stressful. So many rides and attractions. So many long lines. So much overstimulation for the little ones that they’re practically bouncing off the walls until they crash for a much needed stroller nap….even when they would otherwise consider themselves too old for a stroller.
Good thing you can rent a stroller if you didn’t think you’d need one.
While the kids are napping, may we suggest that it might be time for a cocktail Disney-style.
One of the iconic treats we think of when we think of Disney is Dole Whip. Yes, Dole as in the pineapple-company which means, yes again, a pineapple treat. Dole Whip is available at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. It looks like soft-serve ice-cream, but even if you’re lactose intolerant, you can enjoy this treat since it’s non-dairy.
Warning, once you try a Dole Whip, you’re going to be searching for one closer to home. It’s that good. Unless you live in Hawaii (where you can get one at the Dole plantation), it’s going to be hard to find. Better plan another trip to Disney World or Disneyland.
You thought we were talking about cocktails here, right? Then we hope you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World because Wine Bar George located at Disney Springs, an entertainment and dining hub, has created a very grown up version of Dole Whip.
Actually, there’s more than one adults-only drink featuring Dole Whip.
The first one is the Dole Whip Froscato. This cocktail combines Dole Whip, vodka and moscato for an adults-only slushie. This drink is currently available from The Basket, a quick, counter-service part of Wine Bar George, but it will also be available during the new Wine Country Brunch that’s going to be offered at the Wine Bar George starting on March 30th.
If you’re more into strawberry than pineapple, you might want to try Frosé instead. This is a mix of vodka, rosé and strawberry. If raspberry is more your jam, then be sure to order the Freaujolais, which is a blend of vodka, beaujolais and raspberry.
Back to Dole Whip (because we do love our pineapple), the Wine Country Brunch will also have a Dole Whip Mimosa on the menu. This drink combines prosecco, pineapple and mostaco for a very Dole and Disney twist on the classic brunch cocktail.
Which one would you order, the Dole Whip Froscato or the Dole Whip Mimosa?
