Let’s be honest. Disney has played a large part in making our quarantine more comfortable. We watch probably way too much Disney+, but it’s a much needed break for our kids when they are done with their distance learning for the day. After all, they can’t hang out with their friends, but they can see their favorite shows and movies again and again.
We’re also enjoying a break from our quarantine stash of pasta and canned goods by making previously secret Disney recipes like cookie fries and Toy Story Land’s grilled cheese.
Now, Disney is helping parents in another way. This time, it’s via face masks.
Have you ever tried to get your kids to wear face masks while going for a walk around the neighborhood? It’s much easier said than done. The CDC recommends that children under the age of 2 don’t wear masks, but it is a good idea for older children to wear face coverings when going out in public places.
We don’t want to scare our kids by making them do something unfamiliar like wearing a face covering, but we do want to protect them while also protecting anyone we may encounter when we leave home. Disney hopes that a face mask featuring popular characters like Mickey Mouse or Elsa will help.
“During these challenging times, we’re using the power of our timeless stories and beloved characters to address our guests’ needs for family-friendly reusable cloth face masks.”
Disney’s new cloth face masks are available for preorder at shopDisney.com. A set of four reusable cloth masks costs $19.99, and all profits from the sale of these masks (up to $1 million) will be donated to MedShare.

The masks are available in three sizes: small, medium and large. Disney fans can chose from the following mask sets: Star Wars, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Disney Princess and Frozen, PIXAR, Marvel, and a set simply called Disney which will transform the wearer’s face into Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Stitch and Marie.
Disney is attempting to limit hoarding when it comes to the masks by limiting fans to a maximum of 2 of each mask set option. The machine washable masks are expected to ship in June.
