When buying a home, many people are quick to want a turn-key, perfectly all-done-up place. A home where there’s no work to be done, they can move in without changing a thing, and the style will hold up for years to come.

However, others look for homes that remain untouched for decades—a home that feels like a literal time warp to the decade it was designed when you walk through it.

One couple named Alysha and Nate Jackson decided to buy a home in Indiana (the family lives in Florida) that was built in 1975—and hasn’t been touched since. Being close to 50 years old with 70s décor creeping all throughout, the house is in stunning shape. It’s so stunning, in fact, that photos of their home have been shared by media outlets everywhere in absolute awe of its ambiance.

The home’s true marker is its Barney-purple carpet—a color so vibrant and unique that people can’t help but stare in awe of it.

The home is the Jackson’s second home—and one that they might not even have purchased if Nate hadn’t noticed the home in some of the real estate Facebook groups he was in.

“On Saturday evening he showed me the photos, and said, ‘Don’t shoot this idea down immediately, but what if we bought this house?’ To his surprise, I agreed,” Ayesha explained. A day later, they put the offer in, and the day after that, it was accepted for $161k—without so much as seeing it in person! They just knew it was going to be a hit.

Once they were finally able to see the home, they knew they made the right decision. “It’s pretty incredible what good shape it’s in,” Ayesha said. “The first walkthrough was unreal… we had seen this house online and had poured over pictures, but nothing compares to actually being here. We’re still discovering fun details about the home.”

The couple plans to split their time between their home in Florida and this new home in Indiana. And while they do want to keep a lot of the characteristics of the ‘70s home, to some people’s display, they want to change up most of the carpet. It’s not that they don’t love the carpet, but there are some things that are just practical. “They aren’t the ones that would have to potty train their toddlers on 40-year-old bathroom shag,” Ayesha says of the Internet trolls giving her criticism for it.

While the carpet is the main event, the entire house is a true ‘70s time capsule. Take a look at some of these photos to see why the home is going so viral.

What do you think of this house? Would you ever live in a house like this?
