These days, Britain’s Royal Family has been embroiled in a laundry list of unpleasant scandals. We’ve been keeping you up-to-date on the details of the heartbreaking feud that is allegedly going on between Duchess Kate and Duchess Meghan, as well as the ongoing public quarrel between Duchess Meghan and her father, Thomas Markle. Unfortunately for the family, the controversy hasn’t stopped there; it has actually had to rein in its social media practices to deter racist trolls from coming at the newest duchess.
Yikes! Clearly, the Royal Family is dealing with some pretty tough stuff at the moment, but luckily, it seems that life isn’t all bad for its famous members. Take Prince William, for instance. While we firmly believe that none of his family members deserve this level of backlash, let’s not forget that he has pretty much ALWAYS stayed on the public’s good side. His sweet, patient disposition is so much like his late mother Diana’s; the prince truly has done a great job of keeping up a clean image!
To celebrate the positivity, we thought it would a good time to share with you a warm and fluffy tale about the Royal Family, one that focuses in on Prince William’s hairstyling skills (or lack thereof!). You see, just recently the future King of England and father of three, visited a local park in Blackpool, England with his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge. While speaking with a local group of fathers called Dads 4 Life, the prince revealed that he does–or at least attempts to do–his daughter’s hair.
It was a sweet admission that was prompted by a father from the group stating he struggles to do his daughter’s hair, so much so, in fact, he finally resorted to learning via YouTube hair tutorials. Responding to this, Prince William said, “Never try to do a ponytail. Nightmare!”
Yep, in a park in Blackpool, England, in front of hundreds of prying eyes, Prince William admitted that he does Princess Charlotte’s hair–and fails at the most basic hairstyle known to man!
After making this confession, Duchess Kate turned to her husband and asked if he is ever able to make a plait (that’s a braid for all of you non-Brits). Perhaps unsurprisingly, her husband hadn’t mastered that hairstyle either. William said, “I can do [Princess Charlotte’s] ponytail, but that’s about it as I don’t have enough hair to practice on!”
Though we’re sure that 3-year-old Princess Charlotte has more than enough people around Kensington Palace who are willing to do her hair–and do it well!–we love hearing that her famous father doesn’t mind stepping in from time to time. If he ever needs any help mastering the tougher stuff, he should take the Blackpool father’s advice and turn to YouTube. There are plenty of great hair resources on there made specifically by dads, for dads, like this amazing straw curl tutorial.
