Ever Sent An Email You Instantly Regret? Here’s How To Turn Back Time

The Internet can be a dangerous place, guys. All of that instant communication has a downside: we’re in such a rush to make that comment, give our opinion, or send that email that we sometimes send our missives out into the world full of mistakes. While we can always delete or edit a Facebook or blog comment, when it comes to email, once it’s sent, it’s sent— until now. To the relief of everybody with a Gmail account, there’s now a way to unsend an email within 30 seconds of hitting the send button. The Hubspot Blogs has the method for us, so read on for the step-by-step guide to this Internet insurance.

Enable Unsend

Go to Settings.

Scroll down to the “Undo Send” section.

Click “Enable.”
Select the cancellation period. Your options will be 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds.

After Sending An Email

After you hit send, you’ll see a confirmation box with two options: “Undo” and “View message.”

Simply click “Undo” to unsend the offending message. The length of time you have to do so will depend on the cancellation period you selected.

That’s it! Such a simple step to solve such a huge problem. Do you have any horrific email stories to share? How happy are you to read this tip?
