Well, it’s official. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—or should we say the Duke and Duchess of Sussex—are now legally husband and wife.
The royal wedding went off without a hitch, exceeding all expectations. Everything was as perfect as could be. There was her stunning dress, the cascades of flowers, the sunny weather and of course, the insanely adorable…lip bite.
If you don’t know what we’re talking about, let us explain. It was right after Meghan walked down the aisle. Prince Harry turned towards her to tell her what he thought of his bride. “You look amazing,” he said. And then? He bit his lip and smiled. #SWOON
You can view the adorable moment over and over here.
“This is a micro-expression,” Susan Constantine, human behavioral expert and author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Reading Body Language, told Good Housekeeping. “In this deeply personal moment, Harry is trying to conceal his emotions. Oftentimes, expressions like this may appear as sadness but in fact, it’s just that he’s really overwhelmed and trying his best to keep his composure.”
Even crazier? “What’s even more significant is that there’s a number of occasions where his mother, Princess Diana, did the exact same thing,” Constantine said. Like mother, like son!
It was honestly so freaking cute that everyone’s comments about it basically broke Twitter. Commenters were sent into an absolute frenzy going crazy over the seemingly simple gesture. Here are just a few tweets that made us laugh:
“I will NEVER recover from seeing Harry‘s lip bite in this moment. #royalwedding.”
“Prince Harry telling Meghan she looks amazing at the alter the proceeds to bite his lip EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO DIEEEE”
“That lip bite was Prince Harry’s way of letting us know we are on royal baby watch. I don’t care what ya’ll say….she is getting preggers tonight. #TheRoyalWedding”
