If you’ve ever owned a long-haired cat, you know that these types of cats need to have their fur brushed every single day or else it will get extremely matted. Skip a few days, and you might be able to work the mats out, but if you go too long, it may not be possible.
Think about when your own hair gets tangled up. It’s not fun or pain-free working the tangles out, but we tend to brush our hair on a regular basis, and we’re not finicky cats, so we deal with it.
Sometimes brushing a cat can be way easier said than done. Cats are independent creatures, and if they don’t want to do something, it’s often hard to make them do it. They also have claws. Sharp claws.
All of these reasons have led some cat owners to shave their cats. Shaving a cat to remove mats is not really a new thing, but it is usually a last resort.
Now, some cat owners are making shaving their cats into a trend with a new cat hairstyle known as the “dino-cut” and sometimes the “dragon cut.” Yes, owners are shaving their cats’ fur in such a way that they resemble tiny dinosaurs.

A White Dino-Cat
She looks like she wants to play with her tail. Either that, or she’s wondering where the rest of her fur went.
-
Looking Fierce
Watch out; this dino-cat looks ready to pounce. Maybe she’s a raptor cat.
-
Dino-mite
This cat’s fur doesn’t look all that long, yet the style is very sleek and effective.
-
If You’ve Got It, Flaunt It
Posed and pretty. Besides the dino-cut, it looks like this kitty’s wearing furry boots.
-
Puurfection
We love the detail all the way down the tail. How do groomers get cats to stay still for this cut?
-
Color Blocking
This kitty’s coloring makes the dino-cut stand out more than ever.

In the Shadows
Is it a cat? Is it a dinosaur? Yes.

This cat looks perfectly groomed and pretty pleased with the results.

Close Cut
It’s interesting how the color of this cat’s skin is so much lighter than the color of her fur. Is it just us, or does she look a little cold to you?

What Are You Looking At?
Your dino-cut, of course. This cat seems pretty secure in his trendy new do.

Wait, That’s a Dog
Apparently, sometimes even dogs want to get in on the dino-cut action.

Before and After
Just in case you wanted to see the full transformation, here’s a great dino-cut before and after. It’s definitely a big difference!
Would you ever consider giving your cat a dino-cut?
