13-Year-Old Trades in Xbox and Does Yard Work to Surprise His Single Mother With a Car

What would you do if you were a single mom of three kids(plus three dogs) just trying to make end’s meat and give your family the life they deserve…and then your 13-year-old son boys you a car because you’re crying all the time?

Metet Krystal Preston, who recently went through some hard times and had to begin life over from scratch. Her oldest son, William, couldn’t bear to see his mom in so much pain that he decided he had to do something about it.

“I saw people on Youtube where they get their mom a car and then surprise their mom with that car, and then I wanted to do that,” said William.

Through some Facebook research, he found a woman selling a white Chevy Metro. It was a bit of a gamble, but he asked if there’s any way he’d be able to trade in one of his most prized possessions–his Xbox–in exchange for the car.

“It was really cheap so I asked her if I could trade it for my Xbox or earn it, and at first she said no, and then she thought about it, and then she said yes,” William explained.

The gaming system combined with money the teen made from doing yard work was just enough for the car.

When William surprised his mom with the car, at first she didn’t even believe him. There’s no way someone in their early teens could do such a selfless act for their mother! But when he showed her her brand new car, it finally kicked in.

“I lost it, I bawled so bad, I was just like, ‘there’s no way.’ What 13-year-old do you know buys their mom a car? I don’t know any, never heard of any,” said Krystal. “I can’t even express it, like there’s no words that can express my gratitude and how proud I am.”

No doubt about it, she raised her son right! We can’t believe someone this young could do something so selfless for their mother in need and we think this is the sweetest thing we’ve heard all day!

“At my low point, here comes my son. Everybody goes through rough patches in their life, but there’s good that can come from any situation as long as somebody with a heart does it,” Krystal said.
