If you weren’t already wary about eating at certain establishments, you will be now. Three teen fast food workers are in trouble with the law for spitting in food. And it happened in Florida.
On April 27, two deputies stopped in at the Highway 55 restaurant for dinner when the three high school students decided to band together and spit in their food. The deputies were not aware of the problem until later. An anonymous person tipped off the restaurant’s owner, who then immediately reviewed surveillance footage.
The owners – who were described as being extremely upset – contacted authorities, and the teenagers were fired and placed under arrest. They are facing several charges including felonies: battery on a law enforcement officer and food tampering (which is a felony under Florida’s food anti-tampering act).
A 16-year-old girl and two 17-year-old boys were charged by the Okeechobee City Police Department and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice. The two officers were notified and did not require medical treatment.
