Former Survivor contestant Roger Sexton has passed away. According to TMZ, Sexton died at the end of October in Walla Walla, Washington. He was 76. It is said he was surrounded by family and caretakers.

His obituary stated he died after “a valiant and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.”

Roger enjoyed a successful career in Construction Management. He rose up to Senior Estimator/Vice President for Tutor Perini Construction, one of the largest general contractors in the United States.

His obituary states “Confidence, discipline, and determination to succeed were all vital components to Roger’s character, which assisted him in being cast on Season 6 of the reality TV show Survivor in 2002.” On the show he was considered a team leader. Sexton lasted 21 days on Survivor, it took place in the Amazon region of South America.

He was let go from the show after the opposing team got a majority of his own team to turn against him.

Per Survivor Wiki, “Believing he would never vote for a woman to win, the women of the Jaburu Alliance orchestrated his blindside right before the jury stage, by turning several of the former Tambaqui men against him.”

Roger served in the Vietnam war in the 1960’s. He was a marine. In 1992, he lost his daughter Heather at the age of 16. She died from Viral pneumonia.

Roger is survived by his wife, Diane, of 54 years; his daughter Amy (Brian Evensen); his grandchildren, and his two sisters.
