Have you ever come across a product that you don’t necessarily need, but you convince yourself that you do because it’s so freakin’ cool? Of course, you have–and chances are, you probably bought it, too!
Well, if you are one of “those people,” we have a feeling that, by the time you’re done reading this post, you will have decided to buy a new microwave…even if you don’t need one!
Just recently, Amazon announced that it had used its smarts and resources to manufacture one of the greatest products we’ve come across in a while: a voice-activated microwave called the AmazonBasics Microwave. That’s right, the e-commerce behemoth now has a $60 (what a steal!) voice-activated microwave that is powered by–you guessed it!–Alexa.
The 700-watt microwave can be synced to any Echo device, which allows all of you microwave-chefs out there to yell out commands to your microwave for a more customized cooking experience. This means hands-free microwaving that allows you to start and stop your cooking as you wish.
To sweeten the deal even further, the AmazonBasics Microwave comes equipped with an automated popcorn re-ordering feature that, when set up through the Alexa app, will send you new popcorn based off your cooking habits.
To learn even more about how Alexa is making the AmazonBasics Microwave one of the coolest new kitchen gadgets around, be sure to watch the video below. Ok, maybe we don’t need this microwave–but we really want it!
We can’t wait to hear your take on Amazon’s smart microwave. Have you purchased this microwave? If so, are you satisfied with it? What cooking gadget do you think Amazon will voice-activate next?
