Woman Takes Selfies of the Guys Who Catcall Her and Shares the Things They Say to Her

Nobody likes to be catcalled. Guys, do you hear that? Nobody. It’s not a compliment. It’s not flattering. It just makes you feel uncomfortable or possibly even scared for your safety. It’s a form of harassment. It’s not ok.

Unfortunately, catcalling is very common. Many women have experienced it and know how slimy it makes them feel. Instead of stewing about it or complaining about it to her friends, one young lady came up with a better idea.

For one month, she took selfies with the men who catcalled her and posted the pictures on Instagram along with a caption that shared what these men said to her. The name of the Instagram account is @dearcatcallers, and the simple description is, “It’s not a compliment.”

Her very first post in the account explained the goal. She wrote, “This Instagram has the aim to create awareness about the objectification of women in daily life.”

After her month of posts ended she added a final post explaining, “My month of posts has ended, but it doesn’t mean the catcallers are in the past as well.” She added, “Thank you for your support and messages. It has made it clear that catcalling is still a common occurrence that many of us are dealing with.”

Scroll down to see some of the men who catcalled her in just one month and to hear some of the things they said to her. She clearly looks unhappy about their unwanted attention. Some of the men seem to think this selfie is fun and even wave at the camera.
