Usually, if you’re not feeling well it’s a good idea to stay home, but what do you do if you have a celebratory vacation planned? Do you cancel it and reschedule? Do you go anyway? The answer probably depends on exactly how sick you feel and how important the trip is.
Actor Richard Gere is currently vacationing with his family in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The trip was a way of celebrating his wife’s birthday. Alejandra Gere is now 40 years old.
In honor of her birthday, Richard, Alejandra, and their children enjoyed time at the beach. In fact, it’s safe to say that they’re still enjoying time at the beach because the vacation has yet to end.
On her birthday, Alejandra posted a picture of herself walking on the beach with her kids. In the caption was the first clue that illness had plagued their family. She wrote, “Thank you all for the birthday wishes.. after almost 3 weeks of everyone being sick in our family today finally I feel much better! Thank you for all the love. I give it all back to you!”
Now, a sources close to the Gere family told TMZ that Richard had a cough before the trip to Mexico, and once in Mexico his cough got worse. In fact, it got so bad that he had to go to the hospital.
At the hospital, Richard was diagnosed with pneumonia. He spent the night at the hospital but was able to leave the next day. It’s not clear what day exactly Richard was hospitalized.
Earlier today, Alejandra added a new post to Instagram. This post shows Richard walking with his family most likely towards the beach. In the photo, Richard can be seen wearing a face mask, but according to Alejandra, “he is recovering. He is feeling much better today! The worst has already pass!”
