Actor Sylvester Stallone, who is probably best known for the “Rocky” movies, and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, first met in 1988 at a restaurant in Beverly Hills. She was only 19 at the time. He was in his early 40s. Two years later, they made their relationship public at a red carpet event in Los Angeles.

Stallone and Flavin celebrated their 25 year wedding anniversary earlier this year. They both marked the occasion with touching tributes to each other on Instagram. Stallone wrote, “Happy 25th anniversary to my amazing wife. There is not enough words to describe what this incredibly selfless dedicated , patient, woman has meant to our lives and I only wish they could be another 25! Thank you sweetheart!”

Meanwhile, Flavin wrote, “Happy 25th wedding anniversary to us! Thank you for always keeping me laughing, loving and protecting our beautiful family!” She added, “Our marriage keeps getting better every year! I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together!” She has since deleted the post.

Recently, rumors started swirling that Stallone and Flavin’s marriage was in trouble. Rumors started when Stallone covered up a tattoo of Flavin’s face that had previously been on his arm. Instead of his wife’s face, his arm now displays a picture of his late dog Butkus who was in the “Rocky” films with Stallone.

The tattoo of Flavin is still visible on Stallone’s arm in his post from August 8th.

But then on August 15, tattoo artist Zach Perez posted pictures of himself working on the tattoo on Stallone’s arm.

According to Stallone’s publicist, the tattoo change had nothing to do with the status of Stallone’s marriage. The publicist explained, “Mr. Stallone intended to refresh the tattoo image of his wife Jennifer however the results were unsatisfactory and, unfortunately, unfixable.” She added, “As a result, he had to cover the original image with a tattoo of his dog from Rocky, Butkus. Mr. Stallone loves his family. The Stallones are presently filming a reality show together which will debut on Paramount+.”

Meanwhile, on August 10, Flavin hinted that there might be trouble with her marriage by posting a photo of herself hugging her three daughters. She captioned the photo, “These girls are my priority. nothing else matters. The 4 of us forever.”

Now, the news is official. On August 19, Flavin filed for divorce from Stallone. According to court documents obtained by Closer Weekly, she wrote that the reason for the divorce is because “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” She wants Stallone removed from her name and wants to be legally Jennifer Lee Flavin. She also wants the couple’s assets and liabilities to be “equitably distributed.”

On the court documents, Flavin added, “the Husband has engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate.” In addition, she requested that “the Husband should be enjoined from, selling, transferring, assigning, encumbering, or dissipating any assets during the pendency of these proceedings.” Flavin wants “exclusive use and occupancy of the Marital Residence during the pendency of these proceedings.” The court documents also state that “pending discovery and in an effort to amicably resolve this dissolution of marriage action, the Wife is 4 intentionally not joining the business entities and/or corporations at this time but reserves her right to do so in the future.”

In a statement shared from a representative for Stallone, the actor commented, “I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues.”
