For anyone who remembers the cult favorite Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray, you’ll remember the wonders this beauty product can work. Teen idols like Hillary Duff were raving about this rosewater facial spray in our childhoods and had an amazing affect on their skin…and judging by their skin, they weren’t joking. The rosewater not only had a soothing, calming effect to irritated skin, but it made your skin glow – even if you had chronically flaky skin. If you’re interested in trying this miracle water, there are two things you can do: pick up a bottle of Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray for about $7 or make your own at home for next to nothing. Watch the video below to see how to make your very own batch of this miracle spray right in your kitchen.
This spray is perfect year round and for all skin types. Because it lacks greasy oils, people with oily skin doesn’t have to worry about clogging pores and people with dry skin will love the moisturizing effects of the anti-inflammatory rosewater and the soothing aloe vera.
YOU’LL NEED
– 1 dozen roses
– Distilled water
– Aloe vera gel
– Spray bottle
STEP 1: Cut the stems off the roses and peel away all the petals. Pull out the base of the stem to get the petals to fall apart faster.
STEP 2: Place all the petals in a pot of distilled water. Make sure to pour the water on top of the petals to fully submerge them, but don’t use too much water.
STEP 3: Add 2-3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel.
STEP 4: Take a small bowl and place it on top of the rose petals.
STEP 5: Cover the pot with your pot lid upside down.
STEP 6: Cook the rose petals for about 30 minutes or until the petals lose all their color.
STEP 7: Pour the water out and funnel into a spray bottle for your use!
