Prince Andrew Reportedly Faced Pressure From Royal Family Before Settling His Sexual Abuse Lawsuit
Prince Andrew’s downfall was being friends with Jeffrey Epstein, who eventually committed suicide in prison before he could go to trial to face federal charges for sex trafficking.
According to Virginia Giuffre, she was one of Epstein’s victims. She filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew claiming that Epstein forced her to have sex with Andrew in multiple locations including New York, London and Epstein’s private island. She claims Andrew knew she was underage when he sexually abused her.
Prince Andrew has denied all claims against him, and he says he has no memory of Giuffre. His lawyers have tried everything to get the case dismissed, and Andrew was scheduled to testify in court on March 10, 2022.
Now, the case will be dismissed because Giuffre and Prince Andrew have settled out of court. A letter to federal judge Judge Lewis Kaplan explains, “Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights. Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.”
The letter continues, “It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others. He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”
