Pennsylvania Police Department Is Looking for Volunteers to Get Drunk to Help Train Officers

A Pennsylvania police department is putting out a call for new recruits. But it’s not because they’re looking to hire a fresh crop of employees. Instead, they’re in need of some tipsy volunteers.

You read that right. The Kutztown Police Department is seeking three volunteers to participate in a training program for their officers. Participants will be helping these officers learn how to properly administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests that are used during traffic stops for DUI.

No, they don’t want anyone walking into the station under the influence. Once you sign up and are found eligible, officers will provide the libations onsite. Out of the many requirements needed to become a volunteer, one is that each person must have someone available to drive them home afterwards. Of course, that person needs to be sober!

All volunteers must be between the ages of 25 and 40 and have clean criminal records. Each must also be willing to partake in hard liquor to the point of being inebriated. It’s not a paid gig, but everyone is not cut out for it.

Would you be willing to get twisted for a volunteer duty like this? Has your local police department done something similar? Do tell.
