Just a few days ago, on January 27, 2023, TMZ shared pictures of exes Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis hugging. The hug made it seem as if perhaps the former couple was working through their ongoing child custody and child support battles and perhaps even thinking about getting back together. The hug did look pretty friendly.

Now, TMZ is reporting that they are absolutely not getting back together and the hug was completely misleading. In fact, the child custody and child support battles are very much still ongoing with even more drama.

Reportedly, Sudeikis wants the child custody and child support decisions to be made in New York, but Wilde wants the decisions to be made in California, and as of July 2022, judges in both New York and California agreed that child custody should be handled in Los Angeles.

On January 4, 2023, Sudeikis’s lawyer, Bill Beslow, asked a New York judge for child support to be decided in New York, and the judge set a hearing date for February 15. According to sources close to Sudeikis, he doesn’t want child support from Wilde and is willing to pay her what he considers “a reasonable amount” that can either be decided by a judge or by the two of them hashing it out.

Beslow is also appealing the decision to have child custody decided in Los Angeles. He is trying to get that decision made in New York as well.

Sources close to Wilde say she is unhappy about the news of the hearing in New York. She wants both child support and custody to be handled in Los Angeles. Her lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed legal documents asking the judge to dismiss Beslow’s attempt to get child support decided in New York on February 15 and to have both child support and custody decided in Los Angeles as Wilde wishes and as the judges originally decided.

You can learn more about the breakup and parenting battle between Wilde and Sudeikis in the video below, but remember, that hug is misleading. They are not getting back together.

Wilde and Sudeikis have two children, 8 year old Otis and 5 year old Daisy. In September, Wilde opened up on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” about how the breakup and resulting custody and child support battles are impacting her parenting style and her children. She said, “It’s allowed for some really deep conversations with my kids about emotions and about happiness and about what family means and love.” She added, “It’s actually allowed me to get to know them in a different way. My priority is them, as long as they’re happy and they’re healthy. My ex and I agree on that.”

Well, at least Wilde and Sudeikis agree on something. Hopefully they get these parenting decisions resolved in the near future.
