Mike Tyson Reportedly Won’t Face Charges For Punching Man On Jet Blue Flight

You don’t want to mess with Mike Tyson. That’s one lesson an excited fan learned the hard way.

TMZ reports that the legendary boxer boarded a Jet Blue flight in San Francisco on April 20, 2022. Tyson was waiting for the flight to take off. The destination was Florida, but Tyson ended up exiting the plane before it left the ground.

While Tyson and the other passengers were waiting for the plane to leave the airport, a fan who recognized Tyson took a selfie with him and then filmed his friend, who was sitting behind Tyson, talking excitedly to the boxer.

Tyson seemed okay with the attention at first, but eventually he’d had enough and wanted to be left alone. Reportedly, the boxer told the fan to “chill,” but the fan didn’t listen. He kept talking. Apparently, he was trying to get Tyson’s autograph.

When the fan wouldn’t listen, Tyson turned around the started punching the fan in the head. There’s even video footage of this incident.

Shortly after the punching incident, Tyson exited the plane. The fan, who had blood on his head, exited the plane as well. He received medical attention, and then he talked to the police.

In the end, the fan decided not to press charges against Tyson. No charges have been pressed against the excited fan either.

According to D.A. Steve Wagstaffe, “We now deem the case closed.”

According to TMZ, a representative for Tyson said, “Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat.”

Do you think the fan should have pressed charges against Tyson? Do you think the fan was to blame for not leaving Tyson alone? Do you think Tyson should face some sort of consequences for punching the fan even though the fan didn’t press charges?
