It’s no secret that, over the centuries, Great Britain has boasted some seriously beautiful royalty–but one of the most stunning members of the Royal Family is also the newest one. Can you guess who we’re talking about?
Yep, she’s none other than the Duchess of Sussex herself, Meghan Markle. The retired actress and wife of Prince Harry certainly is a looker and, lucky for us, she’s actually pretty forthcoming about her beauty routine. As a matter of fact, there is a virtual treasure trove of interviews that she took part in back in her Suits days that reveal an awful lot about how she manages to consistently knock it out of the park when it comes to looking fresh-faced and gorgeous.
In one of her most revealing interviews from 2014, the new duchess told Birchbox that she actually practices a technique called “face yoga,” a series of facial exercises that keep your cheekbones and jawline extra sculpted. Though there are quite a few practitioners touting the unconventional beauty routine on the Internet, the most famous is Nichola Joss, an A-list aesthetician that Meghan first learned the technique from.
Here’s what the Duchess had to say about Joss’ method in the interview: “I swear it works, as silly as you may feel. On the days I do it, my cheekbones and jawline are waaaay more sculpted. There’s a reason she is in high demand around awards season when every actress wants to look A-plus.”
Over the years, we’ve given you plenty of examples of how well this “face yoga” works on dedicated followers of the technique–especially those who spend a lot of time looking down at their phones and laptops. To begin on your own facial exercise journey, this is a great place to get started!
Other beauty secrets from the Royal Family’s newest member
While Duchess Meghan might not be spending her days revealing her beauty secrets anymore, sources around her are saying quite a bit about how she manages to maintain that gorgeous, healthy glow that she is so famous for flaunting.
Recently, we told you all about how she and her makeup artist plotted a “makeunder” for the Royal Wedding–a move that is pretty gutsy, considering her face was literally viewed by BILLIONS of people!
The Duchess’ long-time makeup artist, Daniel Martin, said that he gave his famous client what is known in the industry as a “beat face,” a makeunder that consists of neutral tones created with water-based products. The “beat face” focuses on accentuating freckles and natural variations in skin tone in order to create an uber-natural, ultra-healthy look.
Well, these two certainly achieved that. We’re guessing that Meghan also did her fair share of “face yoga” before her big day, too!
We’d love to hear your take on Duchess Meghan’s unusual beauty routine! Have you ever tried these facial exercises before? If so, have you noticed a difference in your appearance? Do you have any unexpected beauty secrets that you would like to share?
