Meghan Markle has gotten a lot of media attention over the past few years. Sure, as one of the stars on the TV series “Suits,” she was famous before she started dating Prince Harry. That level of fame and attention was nothing compared to the criticism and press coverage her life has had ever since she married Harry and officially become a member of the British royal family.

After renouncing their roles as senior members of the role family and relocating to California, Harry and Meghan agreed to do a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey where they discussed why they left royal life. Meghan opened up about experiencing racism and feeling like she lost her voice and was trapped in her own home. Harry explained that he was worried about the safety of his family considering the criticism Meghan was enduring. They reached out for help but were denied the help they needed.

None of us can know what it is like to be royal. While it may be easy for some to judge and criticize, it is also unfair to weigh in when we don’t even personally know the people we’re talking about. Some people who know Markle personally have weighed in on this unfair criticism.

Many of Markle’s friends have jumped to her defense. Serena Williams tweeted that Markle is “selfless” and “noble.” She also mentioned the importance of not ignoring mental health.

Meanwhile, on her website, Beyonce wrote, “Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership.”

Then there’s Patrick J Adams who co-starred on “Suits” with Markle for seven years. Their characters even got married.

Adams, along with other “Suits” stars, attended Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding. Adams has chosen to ignore much of the criticism about himself and about Markle, but he couldn’t ignore everything. Earlier this year, he tweeted, “There has to got to be better things for you to be doing.” That was his message to people and bots “debating all things Markle.”

This isn’t the first time Adams has spoken in Markle’s defense. After her interview with Winfrey, Adams spoke out in defense of her character saying, “Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on ‘Suits.’ From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued.” He continued, “She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear. Like the rest of the world, I have watched her navigate the last few years in astonishment.”
