When Kate Middleton came on the scene as Prince William’s love and eventual wife, royal fans became somewhat obsessed with her wardrobe. Everything from her dresses to her handbags to her outerwear is ripe for imitating. Women love her look!
Now, royal newcomer Meghan Markle can also be added to the style watch list. Ever since her engagement to Prince Harry was announced, people have been taking notes on what and who Meghan’s wearing. The colors! The length! The labels!
As the public waits for the royal team to drop a hint about the official wedding gown designer, for now everyone will have to settle for seeing her during normal outings. Like her not-so-normal and kind of a big deal Christmas debut!
Meghan made her first Christmas appearance with the royal family during their annual trek to Sandringham. As part of their tradition, the family walks to St. Mary Magdalene Church to attend the morning service together. And Meghan was on top of her fashion game, blending in nicely with the rest of the royal bunch.
Standing next to her fiancé, Meghan was dressed in a camel-colored alpaca wrap coat by Canadian-based brand Sentaler. Check out the lovely detail on the cuffs. The coat is only available for preorder and retails for $1,295 USD. The company takes pride in their cruelty-free and fair trade practices, using sustainably sourced materials. Duchess Kate is also a fan of the brand and has sported at least one of their coats on occasion.
What really caught the eye of fashion lovers was Meghan’s whimsical felt hat. Designed by Philip Treacy, it complemented her look well but its price is unknown. Style mavens guess it’s at least $375. On her feet are a pair of brown Stuart Weitzman suede boots that are about $800. You like?
I am really loving her handbag. The two-tone, round bag that coordinates with her hat, gloves, and shoes is called the “Pixie” by Chloé, and its cost is $1,550. Tally all these luxe pieces together and the price tag is almost $4,000, but there’s just a little bit more.
Those gorgeous snowflake diamond earrings in Meghan’s ears have been worn by her before, and clock in at nearly $6,000. Altogether, Meghan’s rocking about $10,000 worth of chicness. Both Meghan and Duchess Kate looked amazing on Christmas Day, and some of their pieces are selling like hotcakes.
You can hear more details by clicking on the clip below, but if you’re really inspired by her winter ensemble, shopping around can yield some alternatives that are less pricey. On another note, it seems as though Meghan’s fashion choices are blending in smoothly with those of the British royal family.
The Queen herself – who always steps out dressed to the nines – wore a bright orange coat and matching hat. As Meghan continues to assimilate into the family, we’re sure she’ll keep getting high marks on her style. If you need proof, just check out the dress she wore for her engagement portrait!
Are you feeling Meghan Markle’s style these days? Do you think she’ll carve her own fashion niche in the royal family?
