With Meghan Markle about to give birth to she and Prince Harry’s first child any day now, we have so many questions: What will they name the baby? How much will it weigh? What will it look like? The list goes on and on.
Unfortunately, we’re probably not going to hear much from the couple when the baby does finally arrive. The two have declined to take any immediate post-birth photos with their baby until they feel ready to share the big news.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the Palace released in a statement. “The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
Kate Middleton and Prince William had always posed for photos right after the birth of their three children as part of their royal protocol. In fact, this is a tradition that not only Kate Middleton has been a part of, but so has Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson. They all post outside the Lindo Wing right after giving birth.
But it’s no surprise that Markle would go against that. She and Harry have been known to break the royal rules quite a few times, whether it was during wedding planning when they shook up centuries of gender roles, or when Harry hugged a little boy after the boy slung his arms around his neck.
Besides just going against the norm, we think her decision to go against this probably has something to do with not wanting to post in front of thousands after pushing a child out of her body. A friend of Meghan’s recently told Page Six that Meghan “felt sorry” for Kate had to go through with that!
