The saying goes that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and many restaurants are competing for that breakfast business. Earlier this year, Wendy’s released a new breakfast menu that includes a Frosty-ccino (think of an iced cappuccino combined with a Frosty) and a Breakfast Baconator.

Due in part to Wendy’s competition, not to mention the competition from places like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s had been struggling with breakfast sales. The pandemic didn’t help. Another thing that didn’t help was McDonald’s cutting the all-day breakfast menu.

Now, for the first time in almost a decade, McDonald’s is releasing 3 new bakery items, and they will be available all day. The items are baked goods that are typically thought of as breakfast foods, but we won’t judge if you choose to eat them for lunch, dinner or a midnight snack.

The new line up is part of the McCafe Bakery menu which already included the Baked Apple Pie and Chocolate Chip Cookie. The new items are a Cinnamon Roll, Blueberry Muffin and Apple Fritter.

To promote the new items, McDonald’s is giving you a chance to get them for free if you use their app. From November 3rd through 9th, if you order a hot or iced coffee through the McDonald’s app, you can choose one of the new baked goods for free. Sounds like a sweet deal to us!

The promotion is available all day long but can only be used once per day. Considering the promotion is running for 7 days, that’s plenty of time to try all of the new bakery items (at least once) for free. You’re bound to find a new favorite treat!

If you don’t want to wait until next week to try the new baked goods, you can enjoy them right now at your local McDonald’s. They all sound simply delicious.
