Authorities and customers in Wichita, Kansas are feeling relief after a bathroom bomb scare. A staff member at Home Depot called 911 to report a bomb threat that turned out to be a huge misunderstanding.

An employee was using the restroom when he was told by a customer that he overheard someone say there was a bomb in the building, and that everyone needed to leave. The employee asked him three times what he heard, and after the man repeated the information, he walked away and let a security guard know about it.

The guard then called police. After investigating, officers learned that the “threat” actually came from a different customer who was in the bathroom stall and stated, “You all need to get out of here because I’m fixin’ to blow it up.”

It was just a big ol’ poop joke. Everyone in the bathroom at that time – including the guy who told the employee what he heard – knew it was bathroom comedy. Witnesses who heard the original remark laughed it off, and no one thought the “bomb warning” would be taken so seriously.

Fortunately, everyone survived the man blowing up the bathroom with his funk bomb and Home Depot is not pressing charges – for anything. If you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go.

Would you have taken this seriously or as a joke if you heard it? Have you ever done something like that in a public bathroom?
