Ken Jennings Takes To Twitter With Major News About the 39th Season of ‘Jeopardy!’

The popular game show “Jeopardy!” has not been the same for the past two years. Sure, the death of long-time host Alex Trebek forever changed the game show, but that’s not the only thing that has been different. Even before Trebek’s passing, there was a major change.

When the pandemic hit, the game show temporarily shut down production, and when Trebek, the show’s crew and the contestants returned to film new episodes of the show, there was something very different. There wasn’t an audience.

Many TV shows, particularly sit-coms and game shows, are filmed in front of a studio audience. The audience reactions can help those on stage perform. According to interim host Ken Jennings, Trebek preferred performing in front of an audience.

In a recent post on Twitter, Jennings announced some very exciting news. He shared a video released by “Jeopardy!” In the video, we hear the voices of Jennings and the show’s other interim host, Mayim Bialik. Text over the video reads, “It’s not the same without you. Welcome back. Season 39 tickets now available at Jeopardy.com.”

In a follow-up tweet, Jennings wrote, “Nobody would be more pleased about this than Alex himself. He was a natural showman (as anyone who ever saw a Jeopardy! taping can attest) and was never quite as happy doing the audience-less shows of the pandemic era. We’re back, Alex!”

Multiple fans have commented on Jeopardy!’s post about the studio audience returning for season 39.

Yet, many other fans commented that the audience returning was not the news they wanted to hear. What they really want to know is who will be named the permanent host, Jennings or Bialik. “Jeopardy!” has yet to make that announcement, but it may be coming soon.

Tickets to be in the audience of “Jeopardy!” for season 39 have already sold out for the first few dates that were released, but more tickets will probably be released in the near future.
