There are a lot of contenders out there for “Luckiest Dog In The World”: this Great Dane with his own biking wagon; this pup who gets to travel the world; the Newfoundland dog with the best friend in the world; or Alfie, who was rescued from abuse for a wonderful, loving life. But for our money, THIS little mystery guy is definitely THE luckiest dog in the world.
Why? The answer involves a dirt race track, a race car, a confused pup, and a lot of worried bystanders. Take a look at THIS.
Did your heart stop watching that video? Mine definitely did! What’s so crazy about it is that it starts out so normally, so calmly; there’s no sign of the danger approaching this little dog. He’s just going for a stroll down what looks like a country lane.
But then you start to notice that there are crowds surrounding this dirt track: up on the hill, along the sides, pretty much everywhere. And they seem pretty concerned by this canine interloper in their midst! Somebody can be heard shouting, “Perro! Perro!”, the Spanish word for “dog.” The dog glances to his right at the crowd and swerves a little, but he doesn’t stray from the track.
Eventually, after a few seconds of crowd concern, the dog’s pace increases. Because something’s speeding up behind him.
It’s a rally car driven by Uruguayan driver Fernando Zuasnabar in Santa Cruz, Bolivia’s Codasur 2016 rally— and it’s headed right toward this hapless, confused pup. Terrifying. But then this happens.
Zuasnabar hits a bump, the car flies in the air, and sails over the dog! It looks like a planned Hollywood stunt, but really? It’s just the luck of this very, very lucky dog.
Have you ever seen anything this crazy before? Do you have any other stories of close calls or lucky dogs to share?
