Siblings don’t always get along, and in-fighting can be a nightmare for parents. But some families luck out and their kids operate as a team. Brothers and sisters have each other’s backs 100% of the time.
The kids in the Lewis family have that going on early. At 4, Ruby was in the middle of her first wrestling match, squaring up against a 5-year-old boy named Ryan. If you’ve ever watched a pro wrestling match (yes, pro), then you know how intense things can get between opponents. You just sit there and wait to see who’s going to get busted up.
Ruby’s little brother, Jash, wanted no parts of that. As seen in this video shot by a spectator parent, he rushes the mat like a tag-team partner. No warning. No announcement. Just the brute force of a determined toddler eager to protect his family.
There to save the day, the lightning-fast 2-year-old wastes no time unleashing his own wrestling fury on the guy he thinks is fighting his big sis. That friends, is how you run up on somebody. Aspiring bodyguards and wrestlers should take note.
Poor Ryan never saw it coming and went d-o-w-n. The ref had to break it up! Both junior wrestlers looked stunned as the little one was escorted off the scene by his dad, but they recovered and restarted their contest. You can hear laughter and jokes filling the place from other parents taking it in.
According to HuffPost, Ryan’s mother, Tori, couldn’t make the match that day but asked her husband to record it. It was so adorable they decided to share it on Facebook where it quickly went viral. The interruption only lasted a few seconds, and the two contenders were able to finish their bout without any outside help.
Those of you who watch wrestling on TV have seen outside interference. Out of nowhere, a wrestler uninvolved with the match will hurl themselves into the ring, sometimes changing the entire outcome of the event. It’s entertaining!
What’s sweet about this is that the younger sibling had no qualms about defending his older sister. That’s what siblings do! We can only imagine how strong that bond is going to be when they get older. Ruby will definitely want to let her little brother tag along on blind dates so he can watch from the sidelines.
According to the kids’ mom, both Ruby and Jash learned about wrestling from their dad and they love to tussle when at home. At just 2, it looks like the little guy is well on his way to someday becoming his sister’s tag-team partner on the mat. We can only imagine who will win those matches. Our money’s on these two.
Watch the video to see the cute moment where baby bro intervenes. Keep watching to see how this animated wrestling match concludes. Who wouldn’t want a sibling like Jash?
Was there a time when your sibling had your back like this? Did this video make you crack up too? Are you an older or younger sibling who is overprotective?
