The Los Angeles Police Department is no longer investigating the car crash that left actor Anne Heche legally brain dead, according to a statement from the LAPD.

“As of today there will be no further investigative efforts made in this case,” the statement reads. “Any information or records that have been requested prior to this turn of events will still be collected as they arrive as a matter of formalities and included in the overall case. When a person suspected of a crime expires, we do not present for filing consideration.”

Earlier in the week it was revealed that cocaine and fentanyl were found in the actresses blood after being admitted to the hospital.

Prior to dismissal of the investigation the LAPD were investigating Heche for possible felony DUI. The investigation was upgraded from misdemeanor DUI after Lynn Mishele, whose house Anne Heche’s car crashed into and subsequently set a blaze as the result of the crash, said she suffered cuts and required medical treatment.

The actress Anne Heche was pronounced brain dead on Friday with her heart still pumping to find suitable patients for Heche’s organs.

Footage from a home security camera caught Anne Heche’s blue Mini Cooper ripping through a residential neighborhood in the Mar Vista area of Los Angele. The footage was taken just seconds before Heche’s car hit a residential building and burst into flames.

Immediately before this footage a video from TMZ shows Heche’s car after it hit the garage of an apartment building and sped off.
