Later this year, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick will be celebrating thirty years of marriage. The two actors have been going strong since the ‘80s and share two children together.

While we understand that the fate of many Hollywood marriages isn’t always endless bliss, this pair have found a way to come close to it. Kevin and Kyra first met when they both very young during a casual run-in at a local deli when Kevin was a theater actor.

Little did they know that almost a decade later they would begin dating and eventually get married. After a short courtship, the two wed in a simple ceremony in 1988 and have been crazy in love ever since. Sure, like most couples they’ve had conflicts, ebbs, and flows, but they have found a couple of ways to keep their relationship strong.

Sparks first flew for Kyra and Kevin when they both filmed the TV movie, Lemon Sky. Since then, they’ve both had successful careers both on and off the movie screen, with Kyra finding much success on her TV show, The Closer, and Kevin on The Following. And who can forget Footloose?

You may wonder how they’ve managed to keep the love torch burning with two kids and busy schedules, but the truth is that they’re still very smitten with each other. In an interview with Good Housekeeping, Kyra spoke about how they have always made their marriage a priority and never take each other for granted. That includes date nights, fair fights, honesty, and an active sex life.

She also gushed about how hot she thinks he is and that she knew he was the one:

“I had no great role models in terms of healthy marriages, but I knew in my heart and soul that he was the right person. It was an unquestionable truth of mine. I’ve never had anything like that before or after.”

Since they married so young, the couple also took time to grow into the people they are today, but supported each other’s growth and independence. They still do! Kyra shows up to Kevin’s band performances (yeah, he’s in a rock band) and swoons like a fangirl in the audience.

And Kevin is still enchanted by his wife. This past September, he posted a sweet anniversary tribute to her on Instagram that included these throwback pics with the caption, “Happy day to my life love..#29years”:

With their children now grown and out of the house, Kevin and Kyra have been adapting to the life of empty-nesters. Though they are still actively working in the industry (sometimes as a team), they now have more time to spend together as a couple.
