29,000 Pounds of Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sausage Recalled Due to Possible Metal Contamination

If you eat Jimmy Dean’s sausage for breakfast, you need to hold off on cooking any until you check your packaging. The latest food recall affects pork and turkey links made by parent company CTI Foods.

A recall has been issued for 29,000 pounds of frozen Jimmy Dean read-to-eat sausage links due to possible metal contamination. Five customer complaints about finding metal pieces have been logged with the USDA. Although no injuries have yet been reported, the USDA is concerned about the hazard.

The batch was produced and packaged in August 2018. Consumers with the following product in their homes should either throw it away or return it to the place it was purchased:

  • Jimmy Dean “HEAT ’n SERVE Original SAUSAGE LINKS Made with Pork & Turkey”; 23.4oz package with a Use By date of Jan. 31, 2019. The product bears case code A6382168, and establishment number 19085.
