I was listening to the radio the other morning and listeners were being asked whether or not they wash the bottoms of their feet. Answers were all over the place, but it had people questioning their grooming habits.
So, it comes as no shock that there was a Twitter poll about another bathing habit: do you wash your legs in the shower? The question made its way to mainstream media, with Today hosts Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager bringing the topic up on the show this week.
Do you wash your legs when you take a shower?

The Twittersphere responded with more than 850,000 answers and about 20% do not wash their legs. Calculating the poll results was one thing, but the debate itself was a hilarious, contentious, and thought-provoking exercise. Inquiring minds want to know:
They've been safe inside my pants, the whole day. What's the problem

A few of things have been safe inside your pants all day, but may still need a wash…

How does a human get in the shower and only wash "Part" of them? Like what kind of half-ass life are people living??

I'm tired of hiding in the shadows, which is why I'm coming forward to say… I don't wash my legs. Soap is not good for your skin! I wash all the parts of me that get smelly, the soapy water washes over the rest of me, but I feel no need to scrub all of my skin, thanks

The thread is filled with entertaining insights, but it also bred comments and questions about people washing their navels, backs, and behind their ears. People are a tiny bit paranoid about others’ grooming habits now. It’s both funny and scary.
Among women, some – including Savannah Guthrie and Taylor Swift – believe that shaving your legs counts as washing them, but the regularity of shaving ranges. It might be daily, every few days, weekly, or something else.
In general, people who wash their legs each time they shower are adamant they scrub every nook and cranny of themselves regardless of soap trickling downwards. How much time is spent doing so depends on your preference or whether or not you’re in a hurry.
Of course, we want to know your position on this question. Do you or don’t you? If you don’t, what’s the reason and are there are other body parts that you don’t scrub?
