IKEA Shopping Bag Hack Can Help You Pee In A Wedding Dress

While your wedding day is one of the best days of your life, we can’t lie, it can still be a pretty stressful night. Even if you plan and plan down to your core, there are still things you’ll likely be worried about as you’re getting ready the day of.

For example: What if the caterer drops my cake? What if my photographer forgets today’s my wedding? What if I forget my vows? What if Aunt Sally gets a little too smashed from the open bar and dances the Macarena with Cousin Bob?

However, above all, one of the top concerns on a bride’s wedding day is: What happens if I need to pee?!

Most wedding dresses are pretty heavy, with lots of layers and fluff underneath them, so going to the bathroom while wearing one is a pretty valid (and common) concern on your wedding day.

Plus, who wants to even BE in the vicinity of a toilet while you’re all glammed up on the biggest night of your life? Like, the tulle could easily get into the water. *Shudder.*

Pretty much the only solution brides have for this age-old dilemma is to have your bridesmaids accompany you to the bathroom and hold your dress up while you pee. But obviously that’s not ideal.

If you want to spare your dignity and perhaps have some peace and quiet while you pee, we’ve got the solution for you— or rather one, bride under the Facebook name “Djsweeby” has the solution for you.

Djsweeby solved the bridal bathroom predicament with just a single $1.49 IKEA bag.

Yes, you’re reading that right. All you need in order to successfully go to the bathroom sans bridesmaids is a cheap IKEA bag.

Here’s the hack: You just cut a hole in the bottom of the bag, and shimmy it up over your dress. The bag acts like your own little dress carrier, holding up all the layers you might have on your dress, so you can free up the rest of yourself to pee on your own on your wedding day, and not risk any of the dress getting wet.

Djsweeby recently posted this hack after she used it for her own wedding day. Her concerns about going to the bathroom during the wedding mimicked most other brides’, and she wanted to share her brilliance in order to help upcoming brides, too.

“I was really worried about going to the bathroom and not being able to … handle myself. Someone helping or watching me going to the bathroom on my wedding day? Not being able to have free hands to use the toilet paper? Or even worse if my period decides to show? NO WAY!” she posted.

You have to admit, it’s pretty clever! For more on how the IKEA bag hack works and photos of how this bride used it for her own wedding day, check out the video below!
